Alvotech new tenant at Campus Solna – the building Nobels väg 3 close to fully leased

Akademiska Hus has signed a ten-year lease agreement with the Icelandic biotech company Alvotech. The agreement covers approximately 6,000 m2 of lab and office space in the Nobels väg 3 redevelopment project, which is centrally located on Campus Solna and in the heart of Hagastaden's life science cluster.

In three phases in 2026, Alvotech will move into Akademiska Hus' newly renovated lab and office premises, which also include changing rooms, bicycle storage, meeting rooms, reception and lounge. The move consolidates Alvotech's establishment in Sweden and strengthens the company's position as a leading global player in biosimilar pharmaceuticals for patients worldwide.

"We are happy to be based at Campus Solna. Alvotech strives to significantly expand its research and development activities in Sweden. Therefore, the move to the new premises at Nobels väg 3 will give us increased capacity to expand our skilled and knowledgeable team, while continuing to attract top talent," says Joseph McClellan, Chief Scientific and Technical Officer at Alvotech.

Alvotech recently acquired the Swedish company Xbrane Biopharma's research and development operations with about 40 employees. Xbrane Biopharma is currently renting premises in Akademiska Hus' building, the Inventum Laboratory on Campus Solna.

"We are very pleased to welcome Alvotech to Nobels väg 3. With their presence, Campus Solna and Hagastaden will be further strengthened, while the strategic location gives Alvotech proximity to universities and authorities as well as companies and organizations with links to medicine and health," says Anna Alsborger, Property Director at Akademiska Hus.

Nobels väg 3 – state-of-the-art premises in a central location

Nobels väg 3 includes five buildings with a total leasable area of approximately 6,800 m2. With Alvotech's establishment, only one building is now vacant, containing approximately 800 m2 of combined lab and office space.

To ensure that the buildings are as sustainable as possible, some of them will be equipped with solar cells and several energy-saving measures will be implemented. During the reconstruction, there is also a strong focus on reuse, where, for example, doors and glass sections are taken care of and replaced.

In total, Akademiska Hus is investing approximately SEK 300 million in the reconstruction, which is expected to be completed in stages between autumn 2025 and autumn 2026.
